COVID-19 Traveling Restriction Update

Latest Update: 19/1/2023

Many countries now require a negative monitored RAT test or a PCR test before travelling. To assist with our patients that are looking to travel during the Chinese New Year, we have compiled a list of countries that currently have requirements for Mainland China and Hong Kong.

We can also provide assistance to travellers that need supervised RAT or PCR Tests in our Central clinics for those that are in need. All tests performed at OT&P are fully accredited for international travel.

Note: The above services are based on our Central clinics.

United Kingdom

Effective From: January 5th, 2023

Who: Passengers (Aged 12 years old and above) from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

• Test result certificate in English, French or Spanish (both hard copy and electronic copy are accepted)

United States

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Austria

Effective From: January 7th, 2023

Who: All passengers from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Australia

Effective From: January 5th, 2023

Who: Passengers (Aged 12 years and older) from Hong Kong, Macau & Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Canada

Effective From: January 5th, 2023

Who: All passengers (aged 2 years and older) from Hong Kong, Macau & Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

• COVID-19 negative test result certificate

France

Effective From: January 5th, 2023 - January 31st, 2023

Who: All passengers from Hong Kong, Macau & Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

• Test result certificate in English or French (both hard copy and electronic copy are accepted)

• A signed declaration on honour (form can be obtained here or via the airline you are travelling with)

Germany

Effective From: January 5th, 2023 - January 31st, 2023

Who: Passengers (aged 12 years and older) from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure 

India

Effective From: January 1st, 2023

Who: Passengers (aged 12 years and older) from Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Singapore, Thailand & Japan

Documentation Required:

• Negative PCR Test within the past 72 hours before departure

• Self-declaration form completed via online Air Suvidha portal, including the last 14 days of past travel details

Israel

Effective From: December 30th, 2022

Who: All visitors from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative PCR Test within the past 72 hours before departure

Italy

Effective From: December 28th, 2022 - January 31st, 2023

Who: Passengers (aged 6 Years and older) from Hong Kong, Macau & Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative PCR Test within the past 72 hours or negative supervised RAT within the past 48 hours before departure

Japan

Effective From: December 30th, 2022

Who:

• All passengers from Mainland China 

• Any passengers that stayed in Mainland China the past 7 days prior to the arrival date

Documentation Required:

• Negative PCR Test within the past 72 hours

• COVID-19 negative test result certificate

• A valid vaccination certificate

Netherlands

Effective From: January 10th, 2023

Who:

• Passengers (11 years and older) from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure
• COVID-19 negative test result certificate 

South Korea

Effective From: January 7th, 2023

Who: All passengers from Hong Kong, Macau & Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT within the past 24 hours or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

• COVID-19 negative test result certificate

• Registration into Q-code

Spain

Effective From: December 30th, 2022

Who: Passengers (aged 12 Years and older) from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT within the past 24 hours or PCR Test within the past 72 hours before departure

• EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent

Sweden

Effective From: January 7th, 2023 - January 28th, 2023

Who: Passengers (aged 12 Years and older) from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Belgium

Effective From: January 9th, 2023

Who: Passengers from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Portugal

Effective From: January 8th, 2023 - January 31th, 2023

Who: Passengers (aged 12 Years and older) from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Qatar

Effective From: January 3rd, 2023

Who: Passengers from Hong Kong and Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure

Taiwan

Effective From: January 6th - January 31st, 2023

Who: All passengers from Mainland China

Documentation Required:

• Negative supervised RAT within the past 24 hours or PCR Test within the past 48 hours before departure
