How Does Mumps Spread?

Mumps is primarily spread through infected droplets of saliva.

Mumps is transmitted primarily through saliva droplets inhaled or picked up from surfaces from an infected person[1].

The infectious period for mumps is 2 days before the salivary glands swell up, to 5 days after the lumps have disappeared[2].
