What is Canesten?

Clotrimazole, the active compound in Canesten, is a synthetic medication of the “azole” class of antifungals. Its chemical structure allows it to interfere with the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the cell membrane becomes permeable and leaks essential components, leading to the death of the fungal cells.

Usage

What is Canesten used for?
