Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in nursing and midwifery, working internationally in hospitals, clinics and community. She has helped to bring 1000’s of babies into the world, as well as having two of her own along the way. She draws on her professional and personal life experience to help parents from the early weeks of pregnancy, throughout the birth process and beyond into parenthood.
Michelle is approaching her 10th year working as a midwife in Hong Kong and has developed a wealth of experience across care provision in both the public and private sector. She started her career in the UK, working in Europe’s largest NICU, where she provided vital intensive and special care to premature babies and helped parents through extremely stressful situations. She has worked at numerous hospitals in the UK gaining invaluable knowledge and skills in labour and delivery, antenatal and postnatal wards, baby units and community care. In Hong Kong, she worked at The Matilda International hospital before moving into clinical midwifery practice.
Michelle particularly enjoys the continuity and close relationship she gets to develop with families throughout their pregnancy. Her most rewarding moments include sharing parents the first glimpse of their tiny baby on the ultrasound and listening to the heartbeat, helping babies who are struggling to breastfeed, and seeing them grow up as she bumps into them whilst out and about in Hong Kong. Her ultimate aim is to provide the personal support network people so often need, easing anxiety and promoting a joyful experience.
