Rubella can be passed onto the foetus
Pregnant women have a 90% chance of passing the virus on to their foetus, which can be fatal or cause congenital rubella syndrome (CRS). Children with CRS can get hearing impairments, eye and heart defects, autism and diabetes mellitus[1].
